Get in TouchAbout Us
HortiMix is a family-owned greenhouse operation in Guanajuato, Mexico — part of a family with generations of agricultural heritage. Founded in 2006, we grow and pack 100% certified organic vegetables across 47 acres of climate-controlled, mid-to-high technology greenhouses, producing consistently year-round regardless of season.
With direct owner involvement at every stage, we combine deep agricultural tradition with modern infrastructure — ensuring full traceability, food safety, and the personal commitment that only a family business delivers.
How We Grow
Automated systems regulate temperature, humidity, and ventilation year-round, creating optimal growing conditions independent of outside weather.
Precision fertigation delivers the exact nutrients each crop needs, reducing waste and maximizing yield quality across every growing cycle.
We deploy beneficial insects instead of pesticides — nature's own defense system, working 24/7 to protect our crops without chemicals.
From cut to cold chain, every product is handled with traceability and care — packed to the exact specifications of each buyer and market.
Our Products
Standards & Compliance
Our certifications span food safety, organic integrity, and labor ethics — giving our buyers full confidence across every stage of the supply chain.
We continuously scout and identify pest species present in each greenhouse zone, understanding exactly what we're dealing with before taking any action.
Pest populations are tracked over time with precision. We act only when thresholds are reached — no blanket applications, no unnecessary intervention.
We release natural predators that target harmful pests specifically — leaving the crop, the environment, and beneficial organisms completely unharmed.
After each biological intervention we measure effectiveness and adjust. A continuous feedback loop that makes our pest control smarter over time.
Integrated Pest Management
Rather than relying on pesticides, we deploy beneficial insects — nature's own defense network — to identify, monitor, and control pest populations across our greenhouses. This is Integrated Pest Management (IPM): a science-based approach that protects crops, people, and ecosystems simultaneously.
The result: healthier plants, zero pesticide residue, and an ecosystem that stays in balance — exactly what a truly organic operation demands.
Water Stewardship
Greenhouse production uses dramatically less water per kilogram than open-field farming. With approximately 6 million kg produced annually, the difference is significant.
Water savings estimated based on peer-reviewed research: greenhouse production in Mexico requires approximately 20 L/kg vs. 60–70 L/kg for open-field tomatoes. Source: Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Van Kooten et al., 2008.
Our Commitment
We actively plant trees as part of our environmental stewardship — investing in the ecosystems that sustain agriculture for future generations.
Our facilities run on solar power, reducing our carbon footprint and dependence on conventional energy. Clean food from a clean operation.
Our team is the backbone of HortiMix. We invest in fair labor practices, safe conditions, and the long-term wellbeing of everyone who touches our product.
We chose organic not because it's a trend, but because it's right — for the soil, for our workers, and for the families who eat what we grow.
“A family business built on quality, honesty, and consistent growth — from our greenhouses in Guanajuato to your shelves.”
